Rajaji National Park is a vast area in Uttarakhand, covering 822 square kilometers. It includes the protected core area and the surrounding buffer zone. It spreads over three districts of Uttarakhand - Haridwar, Dehradun, and Pauri Garhwal. The park was named after Indian politician C. Rajagopalachari. He was an Indian National Congress leader. Later, it was declared as Rajaji Tiger Reserve .
Rajaji Tiger Reserve is about 244 kilometers from Delhi. The park is home to over 500 Asian elephants, 12 tigers, and 250 leopards. It also shelters several species of deer. It also shelters the sloth bear and the Himalayan yellow-throated marten. It is home to over 400 bird species. River Ganga divides the park into two parts, and due to this many animals are seen drinking water on the banks of the river. Guides are available to go with visitors on safari in the park. All visitors to Rajaji National Park need entry permits to be allowed into the park. Permits are available at each of the gates to the park.
Jeep Safari Fee is Rs.3500 from Park Gate Chila Range, Motichur zones, and Ranipur zones.

Gypsies and other jeeps are available for hire at the gate for a 3-hour Jungle drive, for about Rs.2500/-. But, book them in advance. There are more visitors than Gypsies. Park Drive is through undulating terrain. It crosses river beds and mountains for about 3 hours inside the park.

The Motichoor Range gate is close to Motichoor village. You can reach the park, which is full of jungle, by traveling 24 km trip from Asarori. The park is located at Charing Cross. The area is mostly filled with Sal trees. However, spotting tigers and elephant might be difficult. A train travels through the forest. The park is open from November 15 to June 30.
